If the world’s children are going to write their own stories…
they’re going to need to know how to write. We stand for the freedom of children. We stand for their freedom from poverty, from violence, from oppression. For the freedom to direct their own lives, exploring and contributing their full potential to the world. That all starts with education. Right now, 1 in 3 children is growing up illiterate. Who can reach them, when conventional schools are failing to do so? Their mothers.
Teach mothers to teach others
This simple yet remarkably effective concept provides a revolutionary solution to a longstanding humanitarian problem – 1 in 3 children growing up illiterate. Each of our schools teaches 25 mothers. Each of those mothers teaches at least 5 children.
Once education feels truly accessible, it spreads. The children are so excited by what they’re learning that they informally teach it to their friends, and almost double the total number of children we reach.

Sylvia’s Children is a non-profit organization, centered upon improving the lives of orphans and students, living and learning at the Mbiriizi Advanced Primary and Day Care school in Uganda, Africa. The school is a vital part of the community, as it is the one place where over 1,000 children are constantly progressing their education, in academics and agriculture. Since 2003, Sylvia’s Children has abundantly developed the school’s construction and agricultural learning centers, for the benefit of the students. Chicken coops housing over 20,000 chickens to sell eggs, a pig farm, and an orchard of mango trees have all been implemented. A library, classroom blocks, latrines, solar lights, and health care services have also been installed. Now, with hopes of generating additional revenue, Sylvia’s Children needs YOUR help to build a model farm. Not only would this be a place where student would be taught, but it would also serve as a tourist attraction, where the proceeds would benefit the students and school.
The model farm will be built to house 2 cows, 5 goats, and 50 rabbits, all in an effort to make a difference in the many lives of the community. The organization has always been greatly appreciative with a donation of any size. Please take a moment to see some photos of the work Sylvia’s Children has completed at https://sylviaschildren.com
