Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul P. Harris.
Harris persuaded several business associates to discuss the idea of forming an organization for local professionals. On 23 February 1905, Harris, Gustavus Loehr, Silvester Schiele, and Hiram Shorey gathered at Loehr’s office in downtown Chicago for what would become known as the first Rotary club meeting.
A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual that contributes $1000 to The Rotary Foundation. You can donate at https://www.rotary.org/en/donate
Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.
With your help, we can make lives better in your community and around the world.
What impact can one donation have?
