Don’t bury the lede is an old adage in journalism. I now realize, after just five years, that’s what I had been doing by giving this book the title Recalibrating the Labor Market . Because while this book is indeed about the inner workings of the labor market, where it is today, and where it is going in the future, the conclusion that I’ve reached, and the central message that I’m attempting to convey, is that we should all be spending less time at work and more time with our families and friends and neighbors. Hence the new Shorter Workweeks & Stronger Families
